I will briefly explain what this text is about.
I have seen that the Catholic diocese
of Eisenstadt, in which I was three days in the early 1990s, is consecrated to Saint Martin and he is its
protector. In our Serbian Orthodox Church Saint Martin we celebrated him for
centuries and we also celebrate on the same day together with our Saint king
Stefan of Dechani (Stefan Dechanski), who built in the 14th century the large
Serbian Orthodox monastery Visoki Dechani in the Serbian Kosovo. Saint Martin's
teacher was Saint Hilary of Poitiers, whom our church also celebrates, and on
the same day as the greatest Serbian Saint - Saint Sava.
In the first thousand years after Christ,
before the schism of the Church to the Orthodox and Catholics, all the Saints
are common to us and there are many of them. They are the bridge of our
understanding, our cooperation and our friendship.
Since
Saint Martin is a full-fledged and official Saint of Orthodox Church, he has
his own trophy, icon and prayer to him, and we can pray for mediation before
God, and I will finish this writing with this prayer of mine:
"Saint
Martin prays to God for us. Through prayer of the servant of God Martin, God bless
us, protect and save us, give us peace in our souls and reconciliation with
God, ourselves and everyone around us, and strengthen in faith, love and
goodness for ever and ever. Amen! God give that to us!"
Greetings
from me for you and all the best!
